Types of Diabties, Causes, Symptoms and Ayurvedic Treatment, Types of Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, What causes diabetes?

My Dear readers, welcome to this blog. Today I am going to tell you about diabetes. This disease is more prevalent in a society where there is less labour.

Let's understand what is diabetes. In diabetes the amount of sugar in the blood increases. When the sugar in the blood exceeds 180 mg% it starts coming out in the urine, this is called diabetes.

It mostly happens to obese people. These people are unable to do hard work. Diabetes is less common in the working class because these people have to work hard to earn money. Lakhs of people in India are suffering from this disease. In India every 20th person of the population is suffering from diabetes.

Types of Diabetes

According to Ayurveda, diabetes is one of the 20 types of diabetes. Which is called Kaphaj diabetes.

But according to modern medical science, diabetes is of three types: Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, Type 3 diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is also called juvenile diabetes. Which occurs since childhood. It can also be genetic. In this, the pancreas gland does not work. There is no treatment for it. It can be controlled only through insulin.

Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes occurs in 90 to 95% of people. Nowadays, it has started occurring in the young generation as well. It also occurs due to increasing obesity in the body. It can be controlled to some extent with food and yoga.

Type 3 Diabetes

This is the most dangerous of the three types of diabetes.  Sometimes during the treatment of a patient of type 2, Alzheimer's disease develops. In which memory power is lost. According to scientists, insulin resistance causes amyloid beta, peptide inflammation and oxidative stress in the brain. Due to which memory power is lost. Type 3 cannot be treated. This is a very serious disease.

Who gets Type 2 Diabetes

This disease is more common in people who do sitting work and are obese. Or officers, clerks, lawyers, etc. also get this disease.

In Type-2 diabetes, the pancreas gland of the body does not work. Due to which insulin is not produced. The body's metabolism is unable to control carbohydrates. Due to which it starts increasing in the blood and if it increases too much, it starts coming in the urine.

This disease can be controlled to some extent by food and some yoga exercises. 90%---95% people suffer from this disease.

What causes diabetes?

Mental stress

Friends, mental stress is also very much responsible for diabetes. When there is always a state of anxiety, anger, hatred, competition, stress, pressure, the pituitary, adrenal and thyroid glands start working less. These glands are related to diabetes. As a result, the amount of sugar in the blood starts increasing.

Food

Diabetes is caused by excessive use of sugar, rice, refined flour, sweets, etc. carbohydrates, Dalda ghee, coconut oil, refined oil, chocolate, peppermint tablets, canned food, products made from refined flour, alcohol, meat, fried food. These foods have a fatal effect on the kidneys and pancreas glands. Due to which they get damaged and stop working. Along with these, diabetes can also occur due to lack of alkaline elements, vitamins A, B, C. Non-vegetarian food also increases diabetes. Such food should not be used.

Profession

This disease is more common in people who do sitting work like clerks, shopkeepers, teachers, lawyers, officers etc. Because the liver and pancreas glands of such people stop working. Due to which the metabolism of sugar does not happen properly. Due to which they get diabetes.

 Obesity

Friends, after various types of research, it has been found that this disease is more common among obese people than thin people. Eating food rich in carbohydrates in large quantities makes the beta cells present in the pancreas gland inactive. They start getting destroyed due to excessive labour.

Genetic reasons

If any of the parents, grandparents, maternal grandparents have diabetes, then the chances of children getting diabetes increases by 85%. If any of the 7 generations of parents have a history of diabetes, then children may be likely to get diabetes.

Age

Diabetes mostly occurs after 40 years. But genetics can be from childhood. After 70 years, diabetes is found in very few people. It has also been found to occur in youth. Which is called juvenile diabetes. At present, the number of patients of childhood diabetes is continuously increasing.

Gender

This disease is more common in men than women. But nowadays women who are not able to do manual labour like running the grinder, churning curd etc., leave their work and cook food on gas. Due to less work, this disease is also occurring in women.

Deformity in endocrine glands

In pancreatic carcinoma, sugar is found in urine and the amount of sugar in blood increases. Or it can also happen due to swelling in the pancreas.

Caste, country and environment

Caste people who consume more carbohydrates and alcohol in their diet, are more prone to diabetes.

Diabetes is less common in villages than in urban people. There is New Papua New Guinea Island around Australia, where not even a single person is suffering from diabetes.

In Pima Indians of America, there are only 25 patients of diabetes for every 1000 people.

 Viral Diabetes

Sometimes due to viral infection, insulin producing beta cells in pancreas get infected. As a result insulin production stops. Due to which diabetes occurs.

Prevention of Diabetes

Friends, if you have diabetes, you have to take medicines lifelong. If you want to get rid of these medicines and save yourself from diabetes, then the following measures should be adopted---

Food

A diabetic patient should not consume all types of sweets, ghee, sweet fruits, food prepared from refined flour, canned food, smoking, tobacco, alcohol.

Food should be pure and sattvik. Vegetarian food is best for them.

But rice, potatoes, spices, milk and milk products should be consumed as little as possible.

It is good to eat roti made of bran flour, green leafy vegetables in boiled form. Salad should be consumed in plenty.  Bitter gourd and blackberries should be consumed according to the season.

Yoga practice

Along with walking in the open air regularly, one should also practice yoga. Practicing yoga reduces the chances of diabetes.

For this, one should practice Mandukasana, meditative asanas like Shavasana, Siddhasana, Padmasana, Vajrasana etc. and some pranayama exercises like Nadi Shodhan Pranayama. Chanting Om is also very beneficial in diabetes.

Diabetes is an incurable disease. But it can be controlled and avoided by practicing yoga regularly and adopting a natural lifestyle.

Symptoms of diabetes, 10 warning signs and diagnosis

When the amount of sugar in the blood becomes more than normal (more than 160mg%), and sugar starts coming in the urine, then this symptom is considered dangerous and thus the disease is diagnosed by testing blood and urine.

Yoga can be a helpful complementary therapy for managing diabetes, as it helps improve overall well-being, stress reduction, and emotional health.

While it is not a substitute for medical treatment, practicing yoga regularly can help individuals with diabetes in various ways----

1. Improved blood sugar control

Certain yoga postures and breathing techniques help to reduce stress and improve blood sugar control.

2. Stress reduction

Chronic stress can raise blood sugar levels, so practicing yoga supports the mind-body connection and boosts overall resilience to stress.

3. Enhanced flexibility

Yoga asanas (postures) increase flexibility, which can help prevent injuries, improve circulation, and contribute to overall physical health.

4. Lowered blood pressure

Yoga can help to lower blood pressure, which is often a complication for individuals with diabetes.

Practicing yoga can lead to a healthier heart, which is vital for people with diabetes due to the increased risk of heart disease.

6. Promotion of meditation and mindfulness

Yoga and meditation can provide emotional support and teach mindfulness practices that help manage negative thoughts and emotions, essential for emotional well-being.

When practicing yoga for diabetes management, it's essential to consult with your healthcare provider to discuss your specific needs and any potential contraindications. Additionally, consider working with a certified yoga therapist who can create a personalized practice plan to support your diabetes management.
