Skin

       Friends, elasticity of the skin decreases. Wrinkles and lines start appearing on it. Various types of spots and blemishes appear. The skin layer starts becoming thin. Hair starts losing its colour. The hair on the scalp becomes thin and white. The hair on the head starts falling. The hair on the ears and nose of an old man grows and starts turning white.

 Sensory organs

      The senses of almost all old people start weakening. Their ability to see, hear and touch starts decreasing. They start feeling lonely. Due to the decrease in the elasticity of the eye lens, they develop farsightedness. Which makes them see less with their eyes. It is possible that vision decreases and cataract develops due to protein deposition in the lens. Glaucoma starts increasing with old age. Although it can be treated easily. But still 10% people become blind. Whenever they are not able to work properly, the ability to touch also decreases and they do not even feel if they get a small injury. The ability to smell also does not work.

Excretory system

        With old age, the number of nephrons, the unit responsible for urine formation in the kidneys, also starts decreasing. This reduces the weight, size and filtering capacity of the kidneys. The kidneys are not able to function properly. The problem of frequent urination or urine retention starts occurring. The bladder also loses its ability to hold urine. Men face prostate problems. Women lose muscle strength.

 Reproductive system

      In women, the elasticity of the vaginal walls decreases after menstruation. Due to the decrease or stoppage of estrogen, the vagina becomes dry. The uterus undergoes many changes and it becomes smaller. Sexual activity gradually stops in old age. About 25 percent of men become impotent at the age of 60. The reproductive capacity gradually decreases.

  Blood circulation system

     In old age, due to stiffness of veins, there is a problem of increased blood pressure. However, there is no restriction on cardiac functions. The heart keeps on working properly. Due to increase in vascular resistance due to old age, blood pressure increases and sometimes heart attack can also happen due to not getting sufficient amount of blood to the heart muscles. When a dead person becomes old, bloating may have to be done due to increase in clotting in the blood vessels. There is also a decrease in blood flow towards the brain and kidneys and other parts of the body. Due to inactivity, other heart diseases also occur. Problems like dizziness or fainting also start occurring.

     In old age, the breathing process also becomes weak. Phlegm starts accumulating in the lungs due to smoking or pollution.

  Skeletal system and muscles

      In old age, the joints of the spine become thin. The thoracic curve increases and the back bends due to the cervical curvature. The head starts bending to one side. Due to the decrease in the weight of the muscles of the body and accumulation in the lower part of the abdomen, the structure of the body changes. Minerals like calcium and muscle strength in the bones start decreasing. There is a difference in the movement of the joints. These are the signs of old age. In old age, a person often faces problems like arthritis and joint pain. Osteoporosis is also a major problem in these.

 Nervous system

  In old age, the presence of neurotransmitters decreases. Due to which those people are surrounded by the problem of depression and lack of sleep. The nervous system starts declining. Mental activities decrease and one has to face problems in receiving information, lack of sleep and mental ups and downs.

Digestive system

      Elderly people often suffer from stomach ulcers, bile diseases, intestinal problems and hernia. Due to dental problems, they are not able to chew food properly. Senses start decreasing. Hearing ability also weakens. Constipation occurs due to lack of exercise or water and lack of fibrous food. Sometimes some people also get intestinal cancer.

Endocrine system 

        With increasing age, the hormones of the body also start changing. Often people start becoming victims of diabetes. If the fasting test of a person is more than 120 mg% more than once, then he is considered a diabetic patient. However, sometimes clinical symptoms do not appear initially. Often patients go to the doctor with the problem of retinopathy or neuropathy. After this, urinary problems occur and the problem of neuropathy can come to the fore. Due to which blood pressure and cholesterol increase. The presence of protein is also found in the urine and there is swelling on the face. It is easier to detect diabetes in the elderly as compared to the youth. Because they are careful about their food and weight. They also do not need high amounts of insulin.

      In thyroid disease, the activity of the thyroid gland starts to decrease or it can become inactive. In case of hyperthyroidism, sweating occurs more and the heartbeat increases. Weight starts to decrease. There is no appetite. The pulse starts beating fast. 

In hypothyroidism, the patient is often not even aware of it. Its common symptoms include baldness, heart attack, constipation, laziness, feeling too cold and changes in mental state etc.

Biological changing 

      The height of the body decreases due to bending of the waist. Cavities and decay start appearing in the teeth. Weight decreases till the age of 55 years and there is no relation between very thin people and longevity but people who are slightly overweight are found to live longer.

     After the age of 70, memory power starts declining. There is difficulty in solving logical and verbal problems. Funny jokes are not understood.

   Even if the level of sex hormones is appropriate, sexual activity decreases. The ability to see, hear and smell decreases. There is no decrease in the ability to taste sweet or sour.


 Some tips for health 

      After waking up in the morning, one should rinse the mouth and drink a glass of warm water before going to the toilet. If desired, one can also add lemon and honey.

    You should massage your scalp, face, feet and other parts of the body with your hands so that blood circulation remains proper. 

      You should exercise for 15 minutes in the open air every day. Do not tire yourself too much. If you have any disease, consult your doctor.

     Eat small amounts of food regularly and do not overeat. Chew your food well because the stomach does not have teeth to chew it. Keep your diet balanced for proper nutrition. Do not eat fatty and spicy foods.

 Eat dinner at least 1 hour before going to bed at night. Do not eat after that.

  Eat very comfortably, sit with someone and eat so that you can enjoy it completely.

   Avoid constipation, do not ignore it and get it treated early; this is the root cause of digestive diseases and problems.

       Reduce the amount of tea and coffee. Do not smoke, consume tobacco, alcohol etc. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day so that the water level in the body remains maintained. This will keep the body healthy and prevent constipation.

     Rinse your mouth before going to bed at night. Wash your hands, face and feet before going to sleep.

    Take mild sunlight in the afternoon. This makes you feel fresh and refreshed.

 One should take 6 to 8 hours of complete sleep at night.

     Keep your feelings and emotions under control. It is not good to get irritated over small things as it increases your mental stress.

     One should develop the habit of making good use of free time and involve oneself in some welfare community work by definitely visiting some voluntary organization in one's neighborhood.

    Participate in social, cultural and spiritual activities for emotional unity.

     Practice meditation yoga for physical and mental relaxation.

    Use natural health care and healthy lifestyle. Eat fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables.

 Plan for retirement in advance to live peacefully in old age.
