       Acupressure in Indian Culture

Ear piercing and nose piercing tradition

Dear readers, there are sixteen sanskars in Indian culture out of which the tenth sanskar is Karana Bhedan. In which a particular spot on the ear of a child is pierced after a certain period of time. Its purpose is to expand the thinking power and memory power of the child. By doing Karana Bhedan, intelligence of the child develops and the ability to take decisions is also developed. After studying the human body in modern medical science, it has been found that the place of earlobe piercing is related to the nerve related to the tongue. Like Karana Bhedan in women, nose piercing is also widely popular in Indian society. Piercing at a place on the nose controls the sense of smell and has a positive effect on the nose, lungs and skin.

       Tradition of wearing jewelry

In Indian culture, just as Karan Bhedan is adopted as a ritual, similarly ornaments are also worn traditionally. Along with this, the principles of acupressure are also associated with tradition. Wearing rings on hands puts pressure on the nerves located in the hands. These nerves are related to the internal organs of the body. Wearing rings also affects the internal organs of the body. In Indian culture, there is a very ancient tradition of the bride and groom exchanging rings at the time of marriage, which is related to the effects of acupressure. Actually, the nerve located in the ring finger of the hand is related to the heart. Thus, wearing a ring on the hand expands positive feelings in the heart. The fact of the effects of acupressure is also hidden behind wearing bracelets and bangles on the hand. Pressure on the wrist of the hand is related to the reproductive system. Pressing these points also has a positive effect on the hormones of the endocrine system. Along with this, the effect of bangles on hands, bangles on feet, anklets etc. also affects the mental level. According to acupressure, bangles affect the urinary bladder and prostate gland. Anklets on the feet affect the sciatica nerve and limb glands. Rings on hands and feet work to keep the heart, lungs and internal organs active. The science of acupressure is also hidden behind wearing necklace and mangalsutra around the neck. Doing so affects the thyroid gland located in the neck which controls the metabolic rate. Wearing armlets on hands keeps the muscles of hands strong, gives strength to the arms and has a positive effect on the digestive system. This increases the activity of the small intestine and the large intestine and develops physical strength.

         Tradition of wearing Yagyopaveet

In Indian culture, the tradition of wearing the sacred thread by learned men has been there since ancient times. It is also a ritual which inspires the attitude of the child towards knowledge. In the Indian society, Yagyopavit is considered as a symbol of knowledge, which is given a very important place and is recognized. No religious ritual should be performed without wearing it. The basis of this fact is the effect of acupressure. Wearing it has a positive effect on the heart, mind, brain and intellect. Negative energy goes out of the mind and positive energy enters. Some scholars believe that it protects the person from mental diseases and heart diseases.
